Neurodiversity-affirming paediatric occupational therapy on the Gold Coast

Supporting children through play-based occupational therapy in ways that feel calm, engaging and meaningful, while celebrating each child's unique strengths.

Children's Occupational Therapy

At Wildflower Kids Therapy, we're all about helping kids feel comfortable, confident, and supported.

Using the power of play, our fun and engaging occupational therapy services help children build skills, discover their unique strengths and interests, and learn how to learn effectively.

Everything we do is grounded in a neurodiversity-affirming mindset, meeting kids where they're at and working with families to build practical, meaningful strategies that fit real life.

It's not just about reaching goals. It's about helping kids feel good about who they are.

Our values

Neurodiversity Affirming

We strive to provide a neuro-affirming practice that respects differences in neurotypes including play preferences, sensory processing differences and personality traits. All experiences are equal and valid.

Strength-Focused

Our practice emphasises strengths-based practices to promote self-confidence and positive identity growth. No one likes doing things that they aren't good at over and over again!

Child & Interest Led

Our approach to therapy is child-led, which allows children to fully engage and feel pride when they share their special interests. We want them to be excited about therapy!

Who we help

We work with children aged 2 to 17, with particular experience in supporting kids who:

  • Have developmental delays compared to peers.
  • Are undiagnosed but show traits of neurodivergence.
  • Have a diagnosis of neurodivergence, including those who are autistic, AuDHD, ADHD.
  • Have a diagnosis of specific learning difficulties such as developmental coordination disorder (dyspraxia) or dysgraphia (specific learning disorder in written expression).

Every child we support is carefully screened to ensure alignment with our values and a strong match between families and therapists.

Skills we support

We support development in the following skill areas:

  • Self-Care
  • Gross and Fine Motor
  • Play Skills
  • Emotional Regulation
